Asbestos Awareness Training – IT’S THE EMPLOYER’S RESPONSIBILITY

The Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 came into force on 6 April 2012.

All workers who are liable to disturb asbestos during their normal work should be trained so that they can recognise asbestos containing materials and know what to do if they come across them.

You will need awareness training so you know how to avoid the risks and how to protect yourself.

Our courses include the following topics:

  • Legislation & Duty to manage
  • Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012
  • The types, uses and likely occurrences of asbestos
  • Certificates of Reoccupation
  • Asbestos Diseases
  • Emergency procedures e.g. damage caused to an asbestos containing material (ACM)
  • Avoiding risks from asbestos
  • Waste & Disposal

It is a legal requirement that all who may come across asbestos in their day to day work have been provided with asbestos awareness training.

Major refurbishment works must not start without a Refurbishment / Demolition Survey (fully intrusive) to locate the presence of asbestos.

Premises should have asbestos registers – look at them or ask the foreman where the asbestos is before starting work.

Midlands Asbestos Solutions offer Asbestos Awareness Training and our course is designed to meet all requirements as set by the HSE and demonstrate in a practical way to protect your workforce.
