Sarah Shelton joined Midlands Asbestos Solutions Ltd in September 2011 as Technical Manager.
Sarah joined Darren and the team in 2011 and is involved in the technical aspects including legislation and manual updates as well as site paperwork preparation. Sarah also goes to site to take samples for asbestos testing and looks after the surveying side of the business.
Sarah started out in in a public analyst laboratory involved in food analysis and then moved to Home Brewery in Daybrook in the quality control department. After that she spent a while running a small catering outlet before joining the asbestos industry with Monitor Environmental Ltd as an analyst and surveyor for 12 years.
Sarah loves baking and cooking for friends when she gets time especially at weekends. I also enjoy going out to food fairs and having afternoon tea. I am also starting to put together all the recipes I have collected over the years into a cookery book which I hope to self-publish.

What’s your dream car?
No idea, I’m not really a car person so I’d probably ask my son James who is a car enthusiast. He’d probably pick something really unsuitable like a Ford Capri!
What’s your dream meal?
Difficult – so much to choose from! Starter = Asparagus & Hollandaise sauce; Mains = Roast lamb (pink) with all the trimmings, Dessert = Mini selection of puddings as I can’t just have 1 – tiramisu, banoffee cheesecake, victoria sponge & black forest roulade.
What would you do if you won the lottery?
Have a house designer do my house up and employ a gardener.
What’s your favourite pastime?
Cooking, baking, reading & eating – if it involves pudding all the better.
What’s an unusual fact about yourself?
I’ve always wanted to write my own cookery book and now you can do self-publishing I think this is possible.
