Meet the team at Midlands Asbestos Solutions.

Darren

Darren has been within the asbestos industry for 19 years starting at the bottom as an asbestos removal operative and working his way up to supervisor and then as company director for 10 years. He decided to form his own business in 2010 and now runs a Midlands Asbestos Solutions.

He started his career at 18 removing asbestos from power stations and shipyards (in Southampton and Germany). Darren also worked throughout the UK on various projects for both private and public sector companies including: Local authorities, housing associations, government bodies, demolition, blue chip companies, NHS, schools and Universities.

He currently lives in Ilkeston, Derbyshire with his fiancé, Zoe and their two children, Will & Fallan.

Darren’s hobbies are football (watching and playing when he gets the chance) and cooking.

Sarah

Sarah joined Midlands Asbestos Solutions Ltd in September last year as Technical manager. She previously worked for Monitor Environmental Ltd as their Technical Manager.

She initially trained as an analyst in both asbestos air monitoring and identification and after three years with the company passed the S301 Certificate of Competence in Asbestos.

She then concentrated on the survey side and developed management plans for clients to enable them to comply with current asbestos legislation within their property portfolio. She also took over the asbestos awareness training for clients both in house and on site from an individual delegate through to 50+ delegates within a lecture theatre setting.

Sarah was involved in the editing and re-writing of the manuals for the UKAS accreditation as well as the training of new surveyors and identification analysts.

Sarah has lived and worked in Nottingham and Derbyshire all her life and enjoys the asbestos industry and the challenges it brings. Her interests have always been in food and science, particularly in food. She also runs a cookery school with her business partner, Sareena, in Ilkeston, Derbyshire.

Zoe

Zoe joined Midlands Asbestos Solutions Ltd in March this year as Company Administrator. She previously worked in the Beauty Industry and has also managed a Retail Outlet.

She had taken 3 years out to start her family and is excited about returning to work even though only on a part time basis while she continues to raise her young family.

Zoe enjoys spinning classes several times per week and socialising with friends.

Amy

Amy joined Midlands Asbestos Solutions Ltd in June 2012 as Customer Support Manager; she has worked within the Construction Industry for the past 9 years, most recently in a fast paced role in Industrial Sales at a national independent insulation distributor.

She has worked in the M&E industry for 4 years of her career during which she dealt with various local and national main contractors; we believe this experience is key in taking us forward.

Amy enjoys running a couple of times per week, cooking and socialising with friends on a regular basis.

Shaun

Meet Shaun - one of our asbestos removal Supervisors. Shaun has been in the asbestos removal industry for 20+ years.

Shaun ensures communication is maintained between site and the office based staff and that all method statements are followed and jobs are carried out to a high standard.

Shaun enjoys tending to his allotment and socialising.

Tyrone

Meet Tyrone - one of our asbestos removal Operatives. Tyrone undergoes annual training with ARCA (Asbestos Removal Contractors Association) to ensure that MAS Ltd maintain the highest standards.

Tyrone enjoys socialising and enjoying time with his two young Daughters.

Tyrone has been in the asbestos game for around 7 years.
