We have great news! This month Midlands Asbestos Solutions have successfully been awarded its ISO 9001 accreditation.

Meaning we’re in a minority of businesses in the UK with the accreditation and one of only a few who’ve gained such achievement in the asbestos removal sector.

As passionate specialists in asbestos removal, sampling and surveying, we’re always on the lookout to gain industry approval to demonstrate our success, which we’re more than happy to sit side-by-side with our various accreditations.

What is a ISO 9001 accreditation?

An ISO 9001 accreditation is internationally recognised as the regulatory approved award for a certain high standard of services that meets consumer and industry requirements.

The core specification is within the company’s quality management system which the accreditation compliments and gives it the approval from International Organization for Standardization (ISO).

A quality management system (QMS) is basically a structure within a company that supports the ability to accommodate the implementation of customer satisfaction but also ensures adequate staff training is provided as well.

Steps taken to gain the accreditation

In order for a business like ourselves to be accredited, we need to meet a certain set of covering a set of criteria that meets the pre-established standard for a quality management system.

We’ve been assessed on the following criteria:

Documentation Making sure all personal data and records are handled securely.

People Guaranteeing staff & management are properly trained to follow the quality management system.

Services and Processes Ensuring that services provided are able to identify potential shortcomings and have the resources to improve.

We were vigorously audited by an Intertek auditor who came on-site conducing a full assessment of all parts of the business.

On top of this we’ll be audited every 3 years to gain re-certification by an external body but also conducting frequent internal audits to ensure that standards are kept and that we are meeting the requirements of our accreditation.
