We were contacted by a Client of ours that operates in the Loughborough and Leicestershire area regarding some Asbestos Insulation Boarding that had been located in the building from a survey that had previously been carried out. Due to the asbestos being A.I.B there is certain regulations that we have to abide to. When the client agreed for us to go ahead and remove the asbestos we had to issue a 14day notification (ASB5) to the Health & Safety Executives, this is because of the potential fibre release in this type of asbestos is extremely hazardous.

The A.I.B was located in the storeroom of the building surrounding the pipe works.  A site visit was arranged to enable Midlands Asbestos Solutions to draw up a method statement and risk assessment before the works could commence. All Notifiable removal works have to include strict removal procedures and can only be carried out by a licensed removal contractor such as our selves. There are specific equipment and respiratory aspirators that must be used.

This job went to plan and there was a four-stage air clearance certificate obtained by a UKAS approved analytical company.
